Great Eastern Run 2024

Peterborough’s Great Eastern Run is taking place again on Sunday 13 October. Run, walk or skip round the 5K Fun Run or take part in the half marathon. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a challenge as well as raising funds for Light Project Peterborough. You can take part on your own, with friends and family, or maybe participate in a group with work colleagues.

Last year, we raised over £5,000 which was incredible but we’re aiming a lot higher for 2024 so help us to achieve our fundraising target!

How do I get involved?

1 – To begin with, you need to reserve a charity place by visiting our Eventbrite page. Complete your details and pay the subsidised fee to claim a charity place with us (£10).

2 – You will then receive an email from us with your unique single use race discount code.

3 – Go to the Great Eastern Run website and sign up to the race you’d like to enter and to confirm your official running place.

4 – Add in the code during registration and the entry fee will be removed.

5 – You’re then all signed up!

Set up a fundraising page

1 – Once you’ve registered for the Great Eastern Run, create your fundraising page and try to reach the £200 fundraising target. Head over to our JustGiving Campaign page or search ‘Great Eastern Run’ on JustGiving and click on the LPP campaign link to get started.

Start fundraising

2 – Click on the ‘Start Fundraising’ button

3 – You’ll then be asked to log into your Just Giving account or sign up if you don’t have an account already

4 – Choose ‘create a fundraising page’

5 – When asked ‘Are you taking part in an activity?’, just click the ‘Just fundraising’ option

6 – Look up ‘Light Project Peterborough’ as the charity you’re supporting

7 – Give your page an unique URL name

8 – Choose whether you would like to be kept informed of Light Project Peterborough’s future events and campaigns

9 – You can connect your Strava or Fitbit device/account to your page so you show your supporters how your training and preparation is going ahead of the event

10 – Once your page is set up, please check it has connected up to the LPP campaign page. Your name/page should appear under the list of fundraisers. If it doesn’t show then please contact Matt matt.edgley@lightprojectpeterborough.org.uk and provide your fundraising page URL

11 – Share your page on social media and don’t forget to tag us in your posts!
