Operation Luscombe

We continue to ask ‘How can we serve our city?’

We work closely with the police such as identifying where modern slavery is in place or helping victims of crime feel safe to report. One of the important projects we host and support with is Operation Luscombe. Acting as a hub for Peterborough, this initiative brings partners together to support people in moving away from begging activities or causing challenges for others on the streets.

Led by Cambridgeshire Constabulary, we host partners from housing, drugs/alcohol services, Department for Work and Pensions (JobCentre Plus) and health to work together. The aim of the project is to primarily provide support for people but also help to reduce the demand on all agencies in working together. Any enforcement from the police is focussed on encouraging engagement with support services and finding solutions to help people.
