Learn more about my role – Administrator

Rachel is our Administrator and she has shared what she does and what she enjoys most about her role.

“In my role as Administrator, one of my main tasks is to answer any calls and emails we receive. These might be from individuals who are seeking help from LPP or from members of the public who would like to support our work, either by donating or volunteering. It is very heartening to see how many offers of support we receive from generous people in the community.

One of my other daily responsibilities is to record project data on our internal system so that the figures can be used in reports, and in our monthly newsletter.

I am responsible for carrying out finance tasks, such as invoice processing. I also record all credit card and petty cash spending and generate monthly reports. I assist the Operations Manager with various health and safety checks on a weekly or monthly basis. These include testing the fire alarms and restocking the first aid boxes. Some of my other duties include ordering office supplies, taking meeting minutes and carrying out DBS checks for staff, volunteers and trustees.

During my time at LPP, it has been very interesting to gain an insight into the different operational processes that allow the charity to function safely and effectively. I enjoy doing a varied role which also gives me the opportunity to take part in events and campaigns, such as the Great Eastern Run or the Christmas Hearts Campaign.

I find it very rewarding to be able to support the running of the various services we offer. However, I would say that the most rewarding part of my role is being able to signpost people to the Garden House so that they can access the help they need.”
